Job Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas metal arc welding Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Maintain safe work practices.
• Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits.
• Assist in training, of junior employees and apprentices and inspecting their work.
• Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
• Other assigned work as required.

Requirements

• 2 years’ experience as a Welder preferred
• Experience in MIG welding
• Ability to aluminum a define asset
• Ability to read and understand blueprints required
• Willing to work overtime as required
• Must own reliable transportation and hold a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail.

Work Conditions

• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Travel to off-site locations may be required.
• Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
• Extremely busy environment – must be able to work with little supervision
• Must be able to stay focused on the task at hand
• Overtime as required.
• Hazards associated with the trade.

Job Duties

This is an excellent opportunity to join the finance team and demonstrate your strong cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Director of Finance / Controller, you will be responsible for a variety of Accounting related functions including; ensuring a high degree of accuracy in manufacturing cost and inventory values, preparing accounting or costing reports, processing cost roll-up functions, and actively participating in year end inventory counts

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of fully integrated ERP software systems, cost accounting standards, experience applying accounting principles, theories, and concepts to financial transactions in a fast-pace environment. This individual must have a strong knowledge of Bill of Material (BOM’s), Routings, Work Centers, and their relevancies to product costing. The individual must also have a clear understanding of cost accounting / manufacturing drivers and the ability to translate and interpret these within financial results to tell a story.

This position is a full-time on-site position that will work closely with the Director of Finance, Plant/Production Managers, Warehouse Managers and Supply Chain.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Apply fundamental accounting theories and concepts to support the cost accounting function
• Apply cost accounting strategies and workflows to meet monthly inventory and gross margin goals
• Regularly review costs and update where required to ensure accuracy in cost and inventory valuation
• Perform margin analysis by customer/part/job including analysis and information on cost variances
• Monitor jobs for potential gross profit variances during fabrication
• Perform monthly analysis of inventory related general ledger account variances and reconcile changes
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of general ledger/trial balance for the inventory accounts
• Review, summarize, and report recommendations on inventory, E&O reserve, and gross margin
• Assist in month-end closing activities, including accuracy of manufacturing overhead expenses, overhead allocations, inventory, and cost-of-goods-sold.
• Actively participate in year end inventory counts for all sites
• Contribute to timely completion of the annual audit
• Distribution of monthly management reports
• Support other departments with understanding their results
• Support the budgeting process
• Miscellaneous analysis, report writing and management reporting
• Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, to determine effects on cost
• Assist in the ongoing development, data accumulation and developing KPIs and reporting on KPIs to better track the performance of the plant
• Act as the subject matter expert for reporting in Global Shop and BI from a costing and manufacturing perspective
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, with a mind-set towards driving AOP targets, cost savings and improved efficiencies.
• Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times

Requirements

• Accounting Designation (CPA) or equivalent
• Experience/exposure in continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma, or project management
• Minimum five (5) years relevant costing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to anticipate problems along with excellent problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
• Proficient Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) – Advance Excel
• Excellent planning, organizing, multitasking and time management skills
• Exceptional written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Summary

The Applications Engineer is a senior level subject matter expert in Titan Trailers design and production.  They possess creativity and a keen interest in improving the ability to capture trailer design detail as well as supporting Sales with quotation development and costing.  The Applications Engineer is an integral part of the Sales and Production Engineering teams.  They ensure the trailer ordered by the customer is best suited to their application.  Moreover, through consistent and accurate specification enable quicker and more accurate turnaround for our customers.

Job Duties

• Develop and maintain a library of standard quoted products within Titan Trailers’ ERP system.
• Provide professional support to the Sales team in the development of customer quotes for special applications.
• Communicate with Sales and internal experts to arrive at the trailer specification that will best suit the customers’ needs.
• Using AutoCAD and/or CREO as necessary to provide quote drawings, weight estimates and other technical information a dealer or customer may need before ordering.
• Review orders as required for regulatory compliance (i.e. SPIF, equivalent Provincial and State weights and measures) and perform weight analysis where necessary.
• Interact with Engineering, Purchasing and R&D team members on complicated trailer designs.
• Recommend improvements to processes and current design of products.
• Communicate needs for new options and features internally at Titan.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• College diploma or University degree in mechanical engineering technology or mechanical engineering technician.
• Training and/or experience with CREO, AutoCAD and Windchill PDMLink (or other Part Data Management software) a definite asset.
• Mechanically inclined with in depth knowledge of engineering design.
• Knowledge of State and Provincial trailers guidelines an asset.
• Knowledge of engineering change procedures, ANSI drawing standards and ERP interfaces.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
• Must be detailed oriented, inquisitive and possess the ability to investigate issues to resolution

Working Conditions

• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
• Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects may be required.
• Overtime as required.
• May be required to travel between Titan sites from time to time.
